SUSHI 101
One of my favorite foods is sushi + Poké. When I am on the go, Whole Foods or Pavillions has the best sushi rolls. This evening, I was on my way to the nail shop and I stopped to get a quick bite to eat. I ended up at Sushi 101 on Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles. It has a dark-cozy vibe, very chill and the sushi chef is on top of it all.
I usually spend my time looking at the menu, pondering for a minute. But when it comes to sushi, I know exactly what I want. Can I get a spicy tuna roll with eel sauce and tempura flakes on top, please? It’s either that or a Rainbow roll or classic Hawaiin roll (from Pavillions.)
But hold on – this was different. When I opened the menu, the words “Japanese Burrito Roll” jumped out at me.
Tuna, salmon, crab meat and avocado wrapped in soy paper with Eel-Spicy Mayo and Ponzu Sauce. Basically, a burrito style rainbow roll, minus the rice, shrimp & nori. It would be a sin not to!
Let me just say: chop stick-licking good!
